Another day in heaven... and it really was!

What a difference a new plan and a new day makes... we tried something new this a.m. on the turkeys... Now that I can walk better, we parked farther away and walked in... much more quiet! And it seemed to work... it wasn't long after we sat down that the birds started gobbling up a storm. There were 4 or 5 birds gobbling in the trees and they strutted across the feild and gobbled there for 2 hours! Then some hens led them away. We didn't realize at the time, but they couldn't see our decoys due to the rise of the land and the high rye grass. We did make an end run around them and called in a JAKE... but we let him walk.

Tomorrow a.m. we will be in a different spot and they should walk right by. At least today they walked by this spot many times. We know this because of the tracks and strut marks in the lane. What a fun morning it was!

After we were done, we visited with our friend who has blessed us with this opportunity... he is feeling some better too and that is great!

Then I stopped by the ministry center to load some bricks and blocks that I found in the ivy. Glenn Costa is going to work that area for us in a few weeks and we will soon have it ready for parking on it, in the hopes that we can save the grass nearer the road. Thanks in advance Glenn for your hard work and help!
