I have said for a long time... Surely God smiles when Christian Churches work together!
I began saying that regularly when we began cooperating with Bethany Lutheran Church and Beacon of Light Seventh Day Church to host the Men's Homeless Shelter. And last night our Leadership Team at Community of Joy decided to take it to a new level.
Begining real soon, we will be sharing our Ministry Center on Sunday afternoons with a new Quaker (Religious Society of Friends) worship gathering - Salisbury Friends Worship Group. It is led by Kye Parsons, who has joined us for worship on many occasions at Community of Joy. They will meet on Sunday afternoons at 1 p.m.
We are excited to share the space with them and as we do, remember the blessing Salisbury Christian School was to us when we needed a space to gather in years ago. I feel that our experience on the other side of the line will help us make this the best expereince we can for our Quaker Friends!
We will still hold our regular Carry-in meals on Sundays after our 10:30 a.m. worship gathering but will give them advance notice and invite them to join us for the meal and then they can use the facility.
It is exciting to cooperate and to share the blessing of God with others! Welcome aboard Friends! May God increase your numbers and make fruitful your witness!
