One on One...

I am so impressed with my friend Stephen and the way he has come alive in his faith in Christ!  Not only has he gone deeper in his own relationship with Christ, but he is taking others with him.  On Friday, he told me that he was attending an event at his church on Saturday only because one of the guys he has been mentoring in the faith, wanted to go.  Stephen has been meeting with this guy every week in various formats, answering questions, sharing insights, seeking to equip him as he grows deeper in his faith in Christ!   Stephen has not only made spending quality time with his friend a priority, he has also rearranged his schedule so that the two of them can do things together.  As a result of this one on one mentoring, I am seeing both of them grow by leaps and bounds in their faith!   It is so neat to see.

I think Stephen is doing this "discipling" just like Jesus intends us to do!  And if we would each take one person under our wings, the impact we'd make would be tremendous!   Think about it!  Who are you mentoring in the faith?   Spending time together is the best way to do that!
