Setting Goals...

Wayne Gretsky says, "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take." Charlie Brown is seen shooting his bow and arrow at a fence and then painting a target ring around wherever the arrow hits. If you don't shoot for the moon, you won't hit it!

It is so easy to get sucked into the routine of life and ministry that soon you find that all you do is maintain or respond to what happens... rather than chart a course and make preparations for where you are going.

It is so essential for the health of our congregation for us to set goals and make plans. That's why I took some time away in O.C. this week to get away from the routine and pray, dream, and chart a course. I really want to see us break the 100 barrier this year, but that won't happen if we don't make some course adjustments.

I came home with 5 goals for 2009 and 16 actions steps to acheive those goals.

I will be presenting some of this at our Leadership Team meeting on Monday night!
