Eyes and Nice People...

Well, the eye saga continued today!

We finally convinced Caroline to go to the eye doctor and get them checked.  Thankfully her Aunt Diana went with her!  The doc saw her on an emergency basis and good thing he did... it wasn't as bad as it could have been but she has developed an alergy to her contacts and the solution she was using.  So, for the next 4 weeks she must wear glasses.

For the past week she has been wearing glasses because of the redness in her eyes... and for the past week she has been complaining of severe headaches.  Turns out the nice people at Lens Crafters here is Salisbury told me that her current prescription (which we never had made into glasses because she was wearing contacts all the time) was not as strong as her old one.  And the difference, the person at Lens Crafters said was significant enough that it could have caused the headaches.

She has a paper due today (thankfully the prof gave her an extension) but was unable to work on it due to the headaches and blurry vision when looking at her computer.  So, I called the nice people at Dr. Filapov's office here and they got a new prescription faxed to the folks at Lens Crafters in Harrisonburg and those nice people were able to get her into new glasses today!  Now when she writes her paper tonight and tomorrow, she will be able to see and hopefully not get headaches.

It was wonderful to encounter really nice and helpful people at every turn in this journey as I dealt with details from 5 hours away!   Sorry that she has to spend her birthday tomorrow working on a paper.... but happy the prof gave her an extension! This three week interterm is working her hard and she doesn't have time to struggle with sight issues!  Hopefully that is all behind us and her eyes will become healthy again over the next four weeks as she gives them a rest using her new glasses!
