Looks Good... Might NOT Be!

Just because it looks good, doesn't mean that it is!

I saw a pair of geese recently that are in the beginning stages of nesting. That is happening a lot this time of year. The problem is that the place where they are choosing to set up shop looks good, but in the end it will be the death of their little ones, unless someone steps in and releases them.

You see, they are setting up shop in an enclosed storm water run off catch pond. It is about 35 by 35 with a 10 foot chain link fence around it. The enclosure has all the ingredients that geese need... water, protection, grass. However, the problem is that once the little ones hatch, they can't get out of the enclosure until they can fly and that is a long time in the process.

Just because something looks good, doesn't mean that it is! We can avoid such situations if we take a few moments to think through the downside or if we ask ourselves the "best question ever"... Is it wise?!
