I got up at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday to join 16 other folks from Community of Joy to travel to DC to work in the DC Central Kitchen, where we helped prepared meals for the 4500 people in DC that they feed each day.
We worked hard and had lots of fun... some prepared salad, some cut giant hot dogs and some cut tenderloin. Always an enjoyable and satisfying experience.
Then we toured the new Capitol Visitors Center and enjoyed some time in Union Station. Some stayed on for coffee and worship at Ebeneezers.
Long but great day!
