While on my recent retreat, I started reading a book by Scot McKnight, called The Jesus Creed. I am really enjoying it! So much so that I intend to preach a series during lent on the Jesus Creed.
The Jesus Creed is ...
"Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these."
Scot even wrote a book called "40 Days Living the Jesus Creed" which is a daily devotional book, that I am encouraging folks to purchase. They cost $10.50 from amazon and I will order them on Monday. They are supplemental, not mandatory for the series, of course!
