Our congregation is about to open it's ministry center for two weeks to be a homeless men's shelter. We will open our doors at 5 p.m. and serve supper at 6, then the guys can sleep til 6 and a hot breakfast is served and they get a bag lunch as they go out the door at 7 a.m. We are doing this with a couple other churches... but it is a BIG task! Today, I put out an urgent plea for more help... some of our regular folks that help are experiencing health concerns and can't do what they would normally do. The servants at Community of Joy are a great bunch of people! Within minutes of sending out the urgent email, I had responses of folks stepping up to the plate to do what they can to be the hands and feet of Jesus! So Cool!!!!
It is an honor... to serve Jesus here with these folks!
