I read lots of books in a years time and I am constantly recommending some to friends and fellow collegues... but this book, I want to recommend to you.
I found the book deeply challenging and helpful in thinking about how I read the Bible. You might find it helpful and challenging. It just might make you think about how you read the Bible and what you do with what you read.
I highly recommend Scot McKnight's book, The Blue Parakeet: Rethinking how you read the Bible. And it might be helpful if you read the last chapter first ("Now What?") and then read the book from cover to cover.
