No, Sharon and I are not having more babies! But our church is!
In all our years of ministry, there is nothing more joyous and difficult than calling gifted people into the set-apart ministry. We have done this 4 times officially and have been part of naming gifts in several other people. Two of those 4 persons are actively serving churches now and it is a joy to follow their progress.
Most recently, here at Community of Joy, we licensed Doug Potvin to the set-apart ministry in January and he is now serving our sister church the Greenhill Church of the Brethren in Westover, MD. On Sunday, that congregation will vote on making Doug their Pastor. Previous to this, he has been serving as pulpit supply/ interim pastor.
We are excited about this step in Doug's journey and pray God's speed for him as he follows the call God has placed on his life!
