No one likes problems, do they? Unless, of course, they are great problems.
A great problem?
Yep, you read that right!
Being part of a growing congregation means that everyone doesn't know each other. And that some people might consider a problem. I don't see it as a problem. Actually... the reality is that everyone will never know everyone else! I see it as a positive reality! It is good that we are growing beyond the ability to know everyone! That's what we have been praying to do!
But that reality doesn't mean that we don't want to work at ways to help people know one another. It just means that we need to recognize that not everyone will know everyone else, but all of us can know someone and can be known by someone.
To help us be a place where relationships matter... we encourage everyone to wear name tags, we encourage participation in fellowship events (like Sunday's picnic), we encourage connection in a small group...(always willing to see more started!), we recommend that everyone serve on a Community Blessing Team.... next opportunity is June 27 @ 8 a.m. to work on a Habitat for Humanity House. And everyweek, we host a coffee time between worship gatherings @ 10 a.m. to encourage folks to fellowship!
Community of Joy is a place where relationships matter ... and it doesn't necessarily mean that everyone will know everyone, but that each of us can be known by others and can know others.
