Pastor Mark Batterson tweeted one day recently..."We are not trying to grow a church, we are trying to bless a city. If we bless our city, then God will grow our church." Couldn't agree more! The only thing I would change is whose church it is. It is God's church!
When we get focussed on the mission God has given us, a by product will be a vital and growing church. But as long as we focus only on growing a church, we will struggle. I beleive we are blessed by God SO THAT we can bless others. I also think that Jesus said in response to Peter's confession that HE would build HIS church on that rock!
